Design Templates on WordPress.Com – 1.5% Good Stuff
August 8, 2008
One would think that WordPress.Com can either hire a designer to design some great themes or hire a designer to select some great themes.
I want to extend my personal thank you to Phu Ly for this theme! Otherwise I’d have never started this blog. That is right, he is the one to be blamed :) – not me. This is also one of the rare themes anywhere where I do not have to embed bullshit images just to break the text flow.
It is highly unlikely that WordPress.Com guys could actually ‘GO OUT’ and select 1.5% of good design. If they selected RANDOMLY from a list of designs they would have gotten a better percentage. Did they break a mirror (10th Kingdom reference)? Are they sooo unlucky?
How I calculated.
(Round Up) Percentage = Good Themes / Bad Themes * 100
1.5% = 1 / 66 * 100
Judging by the design of the admin interface at WordPress.Com, they probably not only hired the worse designer ever, but they also hired the worse usability guy ever.
Expect this blog to be moved to WordPress.Org (@ MediaTemple probably) as soon as possible. Then I can use my mad skillz to design (hopefully without using a single image) my own theme – I think I will somehow endure the admin interface as I do not have time to create my own personal blog platform.
** Update: Please read my comment to this post for my new insight. Again, my apologies to wordpress.com!
